Amherst Orthopedic Physical Therapy Associates was founded in 1978 at it's original location in Amherst, NY. The office moved to Buffalo in 1981 and to it's present location on Delaware Avenue in 1988. An expansion of the Delaware Avenue clinic in 2001 provided increased exercise facilities, equipment and an in-ground therapeutic pool in order to facilitate early rehabilitation for all orthopedic injuries, arthritic conditions and myofascial pain syndrome. Peter Schaus, PT, OCS is a graduate of SUNY at Buffalo PT program in 1969. He started practice as a staff PT at Kenmore Mercy Hospital and was promoted to Director of Rehabilitation Services. He has practiced independently since 1971 and was a co-founder of Amherst Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 1978. He became a board certified orthopedic PT in 1990. Peter's primary specialty is in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal, orthopedic and sports related injuries.  | Sylvia Marzullo, PT, OCS – Graduate of SUNY at Buffalo in 1979 with a BS in Physical Therapy, Sylvia is the Clinical Director at Amherst PT. She joined AOPT in May 1987. Sylvia became a board certified orthopedic PT in 1997 and was re-certified in 2006. Her special interests include myofascial release, manual therapy and functional exercise. Sylvia is an APTA credentialed clinical instructor and conducts all functional capacity evaluations and work conditioning programs at AOPT. |  | Martin Koslosky, PT – Graduate of D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY in 2000 with a BA in Biology and in 2006 with a Master of Physical Therapy. Martin has experience working in various practice settings including orthopedics, home care, and skilled nursing/short-term rehab centers. He is an APTA credentialed clinical instructor and his continuing education includes orthopedic and sports related injuries of the knee, Alzheimer's awareness and functional approach to exercise.  | Barbara Jakiel, PTA – Graduated in 2000 from Maria College in Albany, NY. She has been employed at AOPT since August 2000. Since that time, Barb has completed continuing education in foot, ankle and shoulder disorders, massage, muscle restore technique, muscle imbalance, exercise physiology and weight management. Barbara is also PCDI certified in fitness and nutrition. |  | Anthony Corigliano, PTA – Graduated in 2005 from Niagara County Community College as a PTA. He has been employed at AOPT since September 2005. Tony is the Director of Aquatic Therapy and is an APTA credentialed clinical instructor. He has completed continuing education in assessment and treatment of shoulder disorders & related pathologies, myofascial release and is certified in myofascial muscle mobilization. |
